The ambition of Paris Project is to bring together International professionals aside key players in the French film industry, around a few international production projects in development and films in post-production. What makes Paris Project so special is that it aims at encouraging professionals to get involved in foreign films in development in order to promote financial arrangements, co-productions and networking with potential French and International partners.

For its sixth edition, Paris Project will held a co-production platform for projects in development looking for financial partners (Paris Project Meetings) and screenings of films in post-production seeking completion funds (Paris Project Screenings). Both directors and producers of the selected projects and films are invited to Paris to attend Paris Project.
Paris Project 2008 will also held seminars and workshops (Paris Project Workshops) with the participation of high skilled experts, producers, sales agents, official representatives...

PARIS PROJECT MEETINGS

Paris Project invites the foreign filmmakers and producers of twelve selected projects to spend 3 days in Paris where personalised meetings are organised with French and European professionals who are likely to be interested in those selected projects and to bring them financial support through co-production or presales.
Moreover, personalised information to the representatives of the projects and the professionals attending Paris Projects is provided through the intervention of matchmakers and experts in different fields (marketing, financing, legal matters, TV...) and representatives of French and European institutions.
In 2007, more than 200 professionals attended the Paris Project Meetings, and more than 255 individual meetings where scheduled.

Registrations for Paris Project Meetings are closed.

The official selection of project in development will be announced by the end of May.

Launched in 2007 with a Chinese film by He Jianjun, Paris Project will increase the number of Screenings for the upcoming edition with a special focus on the Philippines and Eastern Europe.

PARIS PROJECT WORKSHOPS

Since last year, Paris Project is developing several International partnerships, as with Unijapan, to promote and strengthen networking and relationship between industry people from different geographic areas in order to enhance collaboration and co-productions between those areas. Creating a hub from which arise the opportunity for people to exchange ideas, to meet and to develop their creative thinking.

The selected producers attending the Paris Project Workshops will be invited to Paris during three days to meet with International experts and the Paris Project participants. Special courses will be organised for them around different subjects as European funding, legal matters, Television acquisition policies, description of the European market,…
Half a day will also be dedicated to Asia with round tables about the cinema economy in the Philippines and Japan and the pitching of Asian projects.
